Abstract

The 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies are being rapidly implemented in developing countries, but the corona virus pandemic has slowed their acceptance. In light of this, this article provides an overview of the opportunities and problems associated with 4IR technologies in developing nations such as Bangladesh. This study attempts to uncover the prospects of Digital Financial Services (DFS) in Bangladesh by introducing related ideas such as 4IR and digital economy. The report then goes over the major IT infrastructure issues, as well as a few regulatory and operational limits, such as digital illiteracy, digital infrastructure and access gaps, regulatory and policy gaps, and skill and education gaps. To close these gaps, the study suggests ways for governments in the region to work together to accelerate the adoption of 4IR technology. The article provides an introduction of Digital Financial Services (DFS), which aims to speed up 4IR technology innovation in Bangladesh in order to meet the SDGs by 2030. Policymakers, academics, learners, specialists, and stakeholders in digital financial services will benefit from this study.
